Belongs within: Anomalogonatae.

The Trogonidae includes the trogons, brightly-coloured pantropical frugivorous or insectivorous birds. Trogons are distinguished from all other birds by their heterodactyl foot, with the first and second toes reverted (Mayr 2003).
