Eotetranychus

Eotetranychus tiliarum, from Plant Parasites of Europe.


Belongs within: Tetranychinae.

Eotetranychus is a genus of spider mites with duplex setae on tarsus I approximate, and empodium comprising three pairs of hairs with the ventral pair slightly stronger (Baker & Pritchard 1960).

Characters (from Baker & Pritchard 1960): Propodosoma with three pairs of dorsal setae. Opisthosoma with two pairs of para-anal setae. Tarsus I with two approximate pairs of duplex setae dorsally. True claw pad-like with terminal pair of tenent hairs. Empodium (excluding legs I and II of male) consisting of three pairs of hairs, ventral pair slightly stronger, without tenent hairs.
