Puccinia is a diverse genus of rust fungi infecting angiosperms. Species may be heteroecious or autoecious, macro- or microcyclic; teliospores are usually two-celled, more rarely one-celled or composed of several cells separated by transverse septa (Kirk et al. 2001).
