Dicranoweisia is a genus of mosses growing in dense cushions, with leaves crisped when dry and smooth, erect capsules (Dixon 1924).

Characters (from Dixon 1924): Plants in dense cushions; leaves crisped when dry, entire, with angular cells more or less distinct. Capsule erect, smooth; peristome teeth cleft at apex or undivided, articulated and internally barred.
