Edwardzetes

Belongs within: Ceratozetoidea.

Edwardzetes is a genus of oribatid mites found in cooler regions of the world. They are divided between two subgenera, with six pairs of genital setae present in the type subgenus but only five pairs present in E. (Gamerozetes) brevitutorium (Balogh & Balogh 1992).

Characters (from Balogh & Balogh 1992): Prodorsum with well separated lamellae, without cuspis; translamella medially interrupted or absent. Notogaster with ten pairs of setae; four pairs of areae porosae; pteromorphae immovable. Six pairs of genital setae; one pair of aggenital setae; two pairs of anal setae; three pairs of adanal setae. Legs tridactyle.
