Indotritia

Indotritia javensis, from here.

Belongs within: Ptyctima.

Indotritia is a cosmopolitan genus of euphthiracaroid box mites (Subías 2004). Most species possess an ano-adanal cleft on the venter and two lateral carinae on the aspis but the ano-adanal cleft is absent and only a single lateral carina is present on the aspis of the Australasian subgenus Zeaotritia (Balogh & Balogh 1992).

Characters (from Balogh & Balogh 1992, as Indotritia + Zeaotritia): Aspis with one or two lateral carinae. Genito-aggenital suture incomplete, genital and aggenital plates anteriorly fused, posteriorly separate; genital setae in paraxial position, in longitudinal row; interlocking triangle absent.
