Belongs within: Haplozetidae.

The subgenus Haplozetes of the genus Indoribates is a group of oribatid mites known primarily from Eurasia and the Americas (Subías 2004).

Characters (from Balogh & Balogh 1992): Prodorsum with lamellae present, translamella absent; interlamellar setae originating on dorsosejugal suture. Notogastral setae hardly visible, ten pairs of setal alveoli; four pairs of sacculi; pteromorphs movable. Four (rarely five) pairs of genital setae; one pair of aggenital setae; two pairs of anal setae; three pairs of adanal setae; fissure iad adanal. Legs monodactyle.
