Hantkeninidae

Hantkenina alabamensis, copyright J. H. Lipps.

Belongs within: Rotaliida.

The Hantkeninidae are agroup of planktonic Foraminifera known from the Palaeocene to the present (Loeblich & Tappan 1964).

Characters (from Loeblich & Tappan 1964): Test planispiral or enrolled biserial; chambers spherical to elongate or clavate; primary aperture symmetrical and equatorial, single or multiple, may have relict or areal secondary apertures.
