Humerobates

Belongs within: Ceratozetoidea.

Humerobates is a cosmopolitan genus of oribatid mites in which the pteromorphs may be movable or immovable, and the notogastral setae are represented by alveoli only (Balogh & Balogh 1992). The subgenus Cordylobates is represented by a single species H. (C.) fragilis from Ascension Island in the South Atlantic.

Characters (from Balogh & Balogh 1992): Prodorsum with lamellae present, translamella absent. Notogaster with ten pairs of setal alveoli only; four pairs of areae porosae; pteromorphs well-developed, movable or immovable. Six pairs of genital setae; one pair of aggenital setae; two pairs of anal setae; three pairs of adanal setae. Legs tridactyle.
