The type subgenus of the genus Fissicepheus is an Eurasian group of oribatid mites possessing condyles in the aggenital region.
Characters (from Balogh & Balogh 1992): Notogaster with ten pairs of setae. Epimeral setal formula 2-0-1-3. Pedotecta 2+3 distinct but not conspicuously developed. Four pairs of genital setae; aggenital condyles present; one pair of aggenital setae; two pairs of anal setae; three pairs of adanal setae. Fissures iad apoanal, far from anal plates, distance ad3–ad3 about same length as iad–iad.
