Belongs within: Oppiidae.

Moritzoppia is a genus of oppiid oribatid mites known from the Holarctic, Neotropical and Australian regions (Subías 2004).

Characters (from Balogh & Balogh 1992): Prodorsum with lamellar costulae present; sensillus globular, aciculate. Dorsosejugal suture convex, penetrating deeply into basal part of prodorsum. Notogaster with crista present; seta c2 well developed. Genital plates with four pairs of setae; aggenital region with one pair of setae.
