Belongs within: Caeciliusidae.

Dypsocus is a genus of barklice found in southern and eastern Asia, characterised by densely setose basal segments on the antennae together with the top of the head being flattened and extended behind the eyes (New & Lienhard 2007).

Characters (from New & Lienhard 2007): Antennae with first two flagellar segments thickened and densely setose; distal inner labral sensilla type 1; labral stylets absent; clypeal shelf narrow or inermediate; hind margin of vertex flattened, extended behind eyes; fore wing vein Cu1 branched, cell r5 widened distally; male with median lobe of endophallus undivided; female with spermathecal duct with sheath.
