Belongs within: Tenebrionidae.

The Cossyphodini are a group of specialised inquiline beetles found in association with ants. They are rarely collected but most diverse in Africa, with a smaller number of species known from southern Asia.

Characters (from Andreae 1961): Head more or less semicircular; deep antennal pouches present between cheek and throat plate. Antennae geniculate, 9- or 11-segmented, with 1- or 2-segmented club respective to segment number. Tarsal formula 5,5,4 or 5,4,4.
