The Chrysomeloidea are a diverse clade of beetles containing the families Chrysomelidae, Cerambycidae and allies; members of this clade have antennae lacking a club. The Chrysomelidae, the leaf beetles, are an extremely diverse family of beetles that mostly feed on living plant tissue. Members of the subfamilies Bruchinae and many Galerucinae have enlarged hind femurs that are used for jumping; the Bruchinae have a somewhat rostrate head and hence superficially weevils in appearance.
