Belongs within: Agaonidae.

Pleistodontes is an Australasian genus of wasps that pollinate figs of Ficus section Malvanthera (Bouček 1988).

Characters (from Bouček 1988): Females with head slightly to strongly longer than broad, with long subparallel genae; mandibular appendage usually with more than 20 laminae, these sometimes denticulate; amennal scape either slender, fully 3 times as long as broad or shorter but then in dorsal part thin foliaceous; apical spiracles of gaster without long peritremata. Males with reduced wings, all tarsi five-segmented.
