Belongs within: Sciaroidea.

The Ditomyiidae are a group of fungus gnats characterised by wings with the media and cubitus connected, and vein R4 relatively long (Tonnoir & Edwards 1927).

Characters (from Tonnoir & Edwards 1927, as Ditomyiinae): R4 present and rather long, generally half or more than half as long as Rs; Sc short and ending free; posterior divisions of pronotum with one or more longish bristles.
