Belongs within: Uropodoidea.

Trichocylliba is a genus of uropodoid mites associated with roaming ants as adults and exhibiting a number of specialisations for attaching to their hosts (Lindquist et al. 2009).

Characters (from Evans & Till 1979): Dorsum covered by a single shield, idiosoma without a defined marginal shield; forked pilus dentilis absent; levator tendon of movable finger of chelicera with sclerotised node; palpfemur with five setae; intercoxal region bearing five pairs of setae; pedofossae present; femur I with nine setae; genu I with a pair of ventral setae; genua III and IV without ventral setae.
