Paralaoma is an Australasian genus of very small snails with a coarse radial sculpture and wide umbilicus on the shell (Stanisic et al. 2010).

Characters (from Stanisic et al. 2010): Shell minute to very small, depressedly turbinate to trochoidal with low to high dome-shaped spire; whorls rounded to shouldered; protoconch with cord-like spiral lirae; teleoconch sculpture of closely to widely spaced radial ribs and growth lines overlying finer spiral threads; umbilicus wide to narrow. Colour waxy brown.
