Belongs within: Papilionoideae.

The Exostyleae are a Neotropical group of leguminous plants found mostly in tropical rain forests. They are characterised by serrate and sometimes spinescent leaflet or leaf margins, basifixed anthers, and drupaceous fruits (Cardoso et al. 2013).
