Sodreaninae

The Sodreaninae is a group of gonyleptid harvestmen endemic to the Atlantic rainforest of southeastern Brazil (Pinto-da-Rocha & Bragagnolo 2010).

Characters (from Pinto-da-Rocha & Braganolo 2010): Body pyriform. Two ozopores. Ocularium narrow, with two long and parallel spines or two tubercles. Dorsal scute with four grooves (three areas). Area I divided. Area III with variable armature (two tubercles, two spines or tuberculate elevation). Pedipalp with elongated and thin, without long setae; patella elongated, without prolateral setae; tibia mesal II/IiIi, ectal IiIi/II; tarsus longer than tibia, biconvex, with two ventral rows of wide setae, mesal II and ectal II. Tarsus I with seven segments; II–IV with more than six; III–IV with scopulae. Claws smooth. Tarsal process well developed. Penis with ventral process of glans long and thin; dorsal process absent; basal lobe of ventral plate frontwards; three helicoidal pairs of setae on ventral plate; one or two pairs of short intermediate setae, three or four pairs of straight basal setae. Colouration brown to brownish dark, most species with one or more white area grooves.
