The Paussinae are a group of ground beetles including a number of species found in association with ants.

Characters (from Lawrence & Britton 1991): Clypeus narrower than distance between antennal sockets; mid coxal cavities open laterally; fore tibia with two terminal spurs, independent of antenna cleaner if latter is present; abdomen with six ventrites.
