Hoplothripini

Female Kladothrips maslini, from here.

Belongs within: Phlaeothripidae.
Contains: Psalidothrips, Hoplothrips, Carathrips, Holopothrips, Liothrips.

The Hoplothripini was explicitly defined by Priesner (1960) as a residual assemblage of genera lacking the characters of more distinctive tribes within Phlaeothripinae; as such, it is almost certainly not monophyletic.

Characters (from Priesner 1960): Wings usually even in width or narrowed towards the middle and then parallel-sided, rarely expanded towards the end. Reticulation rarely present.
