Coelocybinae

Belongs within: Chalcidoidea.

The Coelocybinae are a group of small wasps whose larvae, so far as is known, develop in the galls created by other insects on various trees (Bouček 1988).

Characters (from Bouček 1988): Inner eye margins diverging in lower or anterior section. Antennae often relatively short, with less sclerotised area of sensilla on enlarged clava, the segments of which are often fused. Pronotum rather short. Notauli obliterated. Scutellum with a pair of bristles on sides of the frenal line. Propodeum frequently with a basal 'cup'.
