Mesopolobus

Belongs within: Pteromalinae.

Mesopolobus is a diverse and cosmopolitan genus of wasps parasitising a variety of hosts, primarily gallmakers and other insect larvae developing within plants (Bouček 1988).

Characters (from Bouček 1988): Frons in female narrower than antenna less scapus, clava never acuminate; ocelli not unusually small; clypeal margin more or less emarginate; notaular grooves indistinct in posterior half or third, not coloured differently from adjacent reticulation; forewing with postmarginal vein much shorter than marginal; gaster ovate-lanceolate.
