Frontipodopsis is a genus of water mites with a disjunct distribution in southern Eurasia, Australia and the Americas. They are characterised by a strongly laterally compressed idiosoma, and dorsoventrally expanded and laterally flattened segments on leg IV (Walter et al. 2009).
