Hygrobates is a genus of mostly soft-bodied water mites with the capitulum fused to coxae I and often with a ventral projection on the palpfemur and ventral denticles on the palpgenu.

Aspidiobates is a genus of water mites found in Australasia and South America characterised by a dorsal shield of one large anterior platelet and multiple smaller posterior platelets, three or four pairs of genital acetabula, and legs without swimming hairs.

Omartacaridae

The Omartacaridae are a group of interstitial water mites with a disjunct distribution in southern Asia, Australia and the Americas. Species have a soft integument, somewhat elongated idiosoma, all coxal plates grouped together with the medial edges of anterior coxal group noticeably longer than those of the posterior group, and suture lines between coxal plates III–IV extending at right angles to the midline or slightly posterolaterally (Walter et al. 2009).

Austraturus is an Australian genus of aturid water mites with the dorsal shield divided into seven platelets, and with the pedipalp having several small ventral projections on the femur and paired ventral setae placed subdistally on the tibia.
