The Fibulariidae are a group of echinoids known in temperate and tropical regions from the Upper Cretaceous to the present (Durham 1966).
Characters (from Durham 1966): Shape variable; petals variable, indistinct or simple, open; pore pairs not conjugate, pores rounded; food grooves absent or indistinct; primordial plates simple; internal supports absent or radial partitions only.
