Scolytodes is an ecologically diverse group of bark beetles found in the American tropics (Wood 1986).
Characters (from Wood 1986): Antennal funicle six-segmented, club small, sutures present or not; eye oval, entire, finely faceted; pronotal asperities fine, if present; summit at middle or indefinite; basal margins of elytra marked by a fine raised line; elytral vestiture hairlike, usually sparse.
