Histiotus is a genus of bats found in South America, marked by the possession of particularly large ears.
Characters (from Miller 1907): Dental formula and structure of teeth as in Eptesicus, but outer upper incisor considerably reduced, its tip scarcely extending beyond cingulum of inner. Skull as in Eptesicus, but more elongated and with larger audital bullae, their diameter more than double width of space between them. Ears very large, at least as long as head, united by ridge or low band of membrane across forehead.
