Belongs within: Galumnoidea.
Galumna is a cosmopolitan genus of over 200 species of oribatid mites with well-developed pteromorphs. The majority of species are included in the subgenus Galumna in which line L on the prodorsum (corresponding to the position of the lamellae in other oribatids) is more or less arched, with the lamellar setae positioned far from the end of line L. Members of the subgenera Erogalumna and Indogalumna have dense longitudinal lines on the notogaster. Such lines are also present on the prodorsum in Erogalumna but Indogalumna instead has a prodorsum with dense, small foveolae (Balogh & Balogh 1992). In the subgenus Cosmogalumna, the notogaster is ornamented in a reticulate pattern.
Characters (from Balogh & Balogh 1992): Lamellar setae originating laterad to line L. Notogaster with areae porosae, ten pairs of setae. Pteromorphae with one seta.
