Belongs within: Pectinoidea.

Aviculopecten is a genus of scallops known from the Carboniferous and Permian (Cox et al. 1969).

Characters (from Cox et al. 1969): Ornamentation radial, increasing on body of shell by intercalation in left valve, by bifurcation in right valve; right valve commonly smaller than left.
