Belongs within: Baridinae.
The Coelonertini are a group of weevils with an elongate and parallel-sided body form and coarse sculpture. They have a relatively short beak compared to other baridine weevils.
Characters (from Casey 1922, as Coelonertini): Body form elongate and parallel or rigidly cylindrical, sculpture very coarse and close, vestiture partially squamiform, abdomen very convex. Eyes rather large and moderately separated. Beak notably short, mandibles decussate and feebly toothed. Pectoral canal very deep throughout, with its walls strongly elevated, so that it appears to be on a level above that of the adjoining surfaces, terminating abruptly at hind margin of prosternum. Femora sulcate beneath, subparallel, tibiae straight, feebly arcuate externally toward base.
