Gyrocochlea is a genus of very small snails with a discoid shell bearing prominent radial ribs found in eastern Australia (Stanisic et al. 2010).

Characters (from Stanisic et al. 2010): Shell very small, subdiscoidal to biconcave with a sunken to flat spire, often nautiliform with a flared last whorl; whorls laterally compressed and shouldered to rounded, sutures impressed; protoconch relatively large, reticulate with radial ribs and microspiral cords combined in varying intensities, teleoconch with very prominent, crowded to widely spaced, protractively sinuate radial ribs, microsculpture of microradial ribs and low microspiral cords; umbilicus wide to very wide, U-shaped to cup shaped. Colour beige to dark brown.
