Oppiella

Belongs within: Oppiidae.

Oppiella is a cosmopolitan genus of oppiid oribatid mites with characteristic humeral processes on the notogaster.

Characters (from Balogh & Balogh 1992): Prodorsum with lamellar costulae present. Dorsosejugal suture not strongly convex, anterior part of notogaster not penetrating into basal part of prodorsum. Notogaster with crista present; anterior margin of notogaster with protruding humeral processes; setae c2 well developed. Genital plates with five pairs of setae.
