Granuloppiidae

Belongs within: Circumdehiscentiae.

The Granuloppiidae are a pantropical group of oppioid oribatid mites characterised by the presence of costulae on the prodorsum together with the absence of apodemata IV.

Characters (from Balogh & Balogh 1992): Prodorsum with costulae. Apodemata IV absent. Setae ad1 in adanal position, far from anal plates; ad3 in preanal position. Legs monodactyle.
