Phyllocarida

Fossils of Ceratiocaris, from the Hunterian Museum.

Belongs within: Vericrustacea.
Contains: Nebaliidae, Rhinocarididae, Echinocaridina.

The Phyllocarida are a group of small marine crustaceans with eight thoracic and seven abdominal segments, and phyllopodous limbs (Rode & Liebermann 2002). In the modern fauna they are represented only by the Leptostraca.
